Heyworth - Lois L. McDonald, 77, of Heyworth, formally of Downs, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Lois was born September 8, 1939, in Morgantown, KY, the daughter of Odist and Stella Kessinger. She married Robert McDonald on June 4, 1960. He survives.
Also surviving are their children, Timothy "Tim" (Michelle) McDonald of Downs; Brenda (Douglas) Arvik of Wapella; Robert "Rob" Allen (Kathryn) McDonald Jr. of Bloomington; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mildred "Midge", Sue, Charlotte, and Dorene; three brothers, J.B., J.C., and Dewey. She was preceded in death by her parents; a great grandson, Kevin John; and a brother, Harlan.
Lois enjoyed camping. She also loved spending time with her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Heyworth. Later in life, she attended the Full Gospel Church, Heyworth.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Advocate Hospice and the nurses and technicians on the fifth floor at Advocate BroMenn for their care and compassion to Lois.
Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2016 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Graveside service will be at Randolph Township Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Advocate BroMenn Hospice.
